Tam Coc - Bich Dong - Hoa Lu

Tam Coc – Bich Dong – Hoa Lu

Hoa Lu, located in Ninh Binh province, far from 100 Km down to the South of Hanoi. Hoa Lu, the ancient citadel of Vietnam in 10th century, was built by Kings Dinh Bo Linh ( called Dinh Tien Hoang ) and Le Hoan. It was the capital Hoa Lu of Vietnam under the Dinh Dynasty between AD 968 and AD 980. Some of the sanctuaries and tombs of the Kings have remained completely intact, up to now a thousand years later. So we can see today what people saw a thousand years ago.

Tam Coc is considered “ Ha Long on land ” with its astounding natural beauty of many limestone peaks and the romantic scenery which surrounds the area. Especially , while sailing on a small boat to sightsee on the Boi river, I absolutely escaped from work to harmonize with the peaceful atmosphere. Floating between the towering limestone and mountains outcrop and entering through three beautiful caves, Bich Dong and tunnels , all these sights got me more interested, and I felt lucky to be there. It was some spirit of nature with people in harmony joining together.

Also I enjoyed a walk to the King Dinh’s tomb, temples on a terrace hillside to get overviews of the ancient capital in the marvelous Truong Yen Valley below. It was extremely amazing .
